The Garlic Festival, in its 18th year, continues to bring a variety of family entertainment to the Isle of Wight. It also creates the Island's largest market venue for artists and craftspeople and for every type of business generates an atmosphere for success.
This year the Utterly Butterly Wingwalkers thrill people in the air, and on the ground our Isle of Wight RSPCA show us that dogs who require new homes can be retrained. The Royal Marine Commando Display Team return this year from the Afghanistan conflict, and Father and Daughter team, Tony and Amanda Brutus, stun audiences with their pulling and lifting power and feats.
Also re-appearing is the ever-popular Beechmen Circus revealing the fun and thrills of the Big Top with four shows a day. The Island's own David Randini creates nostalgia with his entertaining Punch and Judy, as well as his lively magic. Delighting people around the Festival site is the comical Zios the Robot and the Island's outrageous Paranormal Perambulations (Ghostwalk Players).
As always, the centre of attention is the Garlic Marquee with the Isle of Wight's 'Golden Clove', which can be found in abundance, including the popular oak-smoked variety. There are many tempting garlic-flavoured products from mussels and other types of seafood to bread, beer, ice cream, and sausages!
